Our client is a software development company, searching for their Director of Tax & Treasury.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO, the Director, Tax & Treasury will have full ownership to shape the future of the tax and treasury functions of a global, private equity backed organization.
They will work collaboratively with business unit leaders, senior executives and other finance departments in driving technical excellence, establishing best practices and assessing the tax impact of business decisions.
They will be responsible for establishing and overseeing tax governance, strategies, policies, planning, operations, accounting for tax and risk management.
In addition, they will lead the global treasury operations in ensuring appropriate financing is in place for the group to meet its strategic objectives.
The Director, Tax and Treasury will be a strategic leader who can elevate the function while serving as a true partner and value creator to the organization.
The role will be focused on three core concepts : Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service / Business Development.
A self-starter with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm for learning, the Director, Tax & Treasury will be part of a fast-paced, global team, and will partner with internal and external stakeholders to support the day-to-day operations of the Tax team, Treasury team, and the business.
The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment and independently.
The ideal candidate is a leader with an interest in having a broad remit and overseeing both the Tax and Treasury Operations.
This is a highly dynamic role where a proactive, self-motivated individual can drive continuous improvement and take full ownership of their responsibilities will thrive.
The successful candidate will be a CPA, CA and bring 7+ years of accounting and tax experience working within the Canadian tax function of a large corporation or a public accounting firm.
They will have experience working in a corporate environment, with having worked in the software / SaaS industry considered a strong asset.

The role will be hybrid, with 3-4 days in the office.
