This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of reinsurance clients in one of the world’s leading insurance markets.

Position Overview :

As an Audit Manager / Senior Manager specialising in reinsurance, you will be responsible for leading audit engagements, providing strategic insights, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality assurance services to their clients.

You will play a critical role in managing client relationships, guiding audit teams, and upholding the firm's reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Client Management : Develop and maintain strong client relationships. Understand client businesses, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Planning and Execution : Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring audits are conducted in compliance with applicable standards and within agreed timelines.
  • Risk Assessment : Identify and assess risks associated with reinsurance operations and transactions. Develop and implement audit strategies to address identified risks.
  • Team Leadership : Supervise and mentor audit teams, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure all audit work is conducted in accordance with the firm’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Review audit reports and working papers for accuracy and completeness.

  • Technical Expertise : Stay current with industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in reinsurance. Provide technical guidance and support to audit teams and clients.
  • Stakeholder Communication : Communicate effectively with clients, audit committees, and other stakeholders. Present audit findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes :

  • An internationally recognised accounting qualification (such as ACA, CA, CPA or ACCA) with five or more years external audit experience, at least two of which are in a management role.
  • Strong, in-depth working knowledge of SEC requirements.
  • A strong, current knowledge of IFRS and / or US GAAP is essential and knowledge of Canadian and Bermuda GAAP would be beneficial.
  • Sound time management skills and proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work effectively to meet established internal and external deadlines.
  • Proven networking and business development skills.
  • First class written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills to produce and review complex financial reports and proposals.
  • Exceptional people skills with the ability to work with clients and staff of all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Hamilton, Bermuda.
