Solutions Developer - SwiftUI, UI Design

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home (Thursday is an anchor day; other 2 days are flexible)

Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension based on business needs and performance; conversion to permanent also possible based on business needs and performance)
• Pay Rate: C$70.00 C$85.00 / Hour (CAD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, core business hours 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
• Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

This is a Solutions Developer role supporting the TD mobile application, a high-usage platform with many new initiatives underway. The position is a backfill role within a collaborative team organized in pods of 2 3 people. The contractor will work in 2-week sprints, participate in ceremony meetings, action assigned tickets on time, and attend other meetings and discussions averaging 3 4 hours of meetings per week. The role involves interaction with both internal and external stakeholders. The contractor will not have access to customer data. There is significant opportunity to network and grow within the organization, and the role offers exposure to a high-impact mobile platform with many new initiatives. The training period consists of TD onboarding and a knowledge transfer during the first week.

Key Responsibilities

• Work within 2-week sprints, attending ceremony meetings and actioning tickets assigned on time
• Attend other relevant meetings and discussions (averaging 3 4 hours per week)
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders as required
• Proactively support and mentor junior team members
• Deliver high-quality work against defined deliverables and timelines

Required Skills

• 10 years of experience with Swift programming language, with a good understanding of Objective-C
• 2 years of hands-on expertise in SwiftUI with a focus on adaptive UI design and reusable components
• 2 years of hands-on experience in Swift Concurrency (Async/Await, minimum 2 years)
• Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive unit tests using XCTest, Swift Testing, and Snapshot tests, ensuring high code reliability and test coverage (minimum 80%)
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong documentation skills
• Experience mentoring or leading team members
• Detail oriented

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ApplePay and Wallet (PassKit)
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and workflows, with a focus on automating testing, builds, and deployments
• Scripting skills using Ruby, Python, YAML, and Bash for automating repetitive tasks and optimizing development workflows
• Banking or financial institution experience

Required Experience

• 10 years of overall experience (flexible with 8 years)

Education Requirements

• University or College degree/diploma is an asset

• Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite, 2 days work from home; Thursday is the anchor onsite day, with 2 additional onsite days flexible
• No rotation required
• Overtime: not likely

Important Notes

• Interview process: 1 2 steps, in person, approximately 2 hours includes a technical (whiteboarding) and behavioral assessment
• Candidates must be within a commutable distance to the office
• North American work experience is required
