We provide training in Scam Prevention, Financial Excellence, Cyber Safety, Digital Literacy, and City Life Skills to Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities across Canada. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide while fostering economic and social empowerment.

Job Overview

Teqare is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Instructor / Facilitator based in Winnipeg, MB. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, interactive, and culturally relevant training sessions to diverse audiences, including Indigenous communities, youth, elders, and small organizations. This role requires a deep understanding of Indigenous culture, strong communication skills, and a passion for education and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Teqare’s workshops and training programs, including but not limited to :
  • City Life Skills & Financial Excellence
  • Scam Prevention & Cyber Safety
  • Digital Literacy for Elders and Youth
  • IT and Cyber Security Basics
  • Train the Educator Programs
  • Travel across Canada to deliver training sessions in both urban and remote Indigenous communities.
  • Adapt training materials and delivery methods to meet the needs of different audiences, ensuring an inclusive and interactive learning environment.
  • Engage with participants in an empathetic and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Work closely with Teqare’s leadership team to refine and improve workshop content based on participant feedback.
  • Represent Teqare professionally in all training settings, fostering positive relationships with communities, and organizations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be based in Winnipeg, MB.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Canada for training sessions (including remote Indigenous communities).
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous culture, history, and current issues affecting Indigenous communities.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, or educational programs.
  • Excellent public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage diverse audiences and create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to teach digital literacy, cyber safety, and financial literacy topics.
  • Comfortable using PowerPoint, Zoom, and other presentation tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while following Teqare’s training guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by air or land as required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle.
  • Criminal record check required upon hiring.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Background in education, social work, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience in financial literacy, cyber security, or community outreach programs.
