Job description

Experienced Applicator & Equipment Maintenance Lead

This role combines precision application expertise with hands-on equipment maintenance and asset stewardship. The successful candidate will take ownership of both field performance and equipment reliability, contributing to a high-performing, efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate dry fertilizer application equipment using onboard technology to deliver timely, accurate applications.
    Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency with minimal downtime.
  • Take full ownership of equipment readiness, including cleaning, fueling, calibration, and ensuring all equipment is field-ready at the start and end of each shift.
  • Diagnose issues and complete basic troubleshooting and minor
    repairs in the field or shop environment.
  • Support and contribute to a structured preventative maintenance program, including accurate record‑keeping and proactive servicing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across equipment, vehicles, shop, and yard.
  • Operate equipment independently with high accuracy, including GPS setup, calibration, and software use.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior or seasonal applicators, including training on equipment operation and maintenance best
    practices.
  • Demonstrate strong adherence to safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and company standards in all operations.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and customer-focused approach in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience operating agricultural application equipment preferred.
  • Valid AZ or DZ license (or actively working toward one).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repair work.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast paced, seasonal environment.
  • Comfortable using GPS systems, precision ag technology, and computer software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy (“no-error” mindset).
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Interest in leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement is considered an asset.

Benefits:

  • Competitive wages and performance incentives, $25-$30 based on experience.
  • Hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, please note extended hours will be required during peak seasons.
