The Opportunity
Ecora is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Field Inspector to join our Kelowna team. In this role, you will support a variety of municipal, transportation, land development, and infrastructure projects throughout the Okanagan region. You will play a key role in ensuring construction quality, compliance, and safety while working closely with engineers, project managers, and contractors in a dynamic field environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable codes and regulations.
Monitor workmanship, materials, and construction methods to verify quality and conformance with project requirements.
Document field observations through daily inspection reports, photographs, and deficiency logs.
Track construction progress, quantities, and installed materials for payment certification and project records.
Identify and report non-conforming work, safety issues, and potential risks to the project team.
Liaise with contractors, engineers, project managers, and municipal representatives to communicate site conditions and resolve field issues.
Review and verify as-built drawings and assist with deficiency inspections and project close-out activities.
Support health and safety compliance by observing site safety practices and reporting hazards or incidents.
Assist with materials testing coordination and review of test results, as required.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
2–7 years of experience in construction inspection, civil infrastructure, or a related role.
Experience with municipal infrastructure, transportation, land development, or utility projects is an asset.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and quality control procedures.
Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with field reporting or project management software is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to travel to project sites within the Okanagan region.
