Job description
Randstad Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop innovative packaging machinery.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical designs, improving existing systems, and supporting production to ensure efficient and high-quality machine performance.

Responsibilities
•Design and develop mechanical components and systems for packaging machines
•Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
•Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility
•Review and improve existing machine designs for performance and cost efficiency
•Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and drawings
•Support production, assembly, and troubleshooting activities
•Ensure designs meet safety standards and customer requirements
•Work closely with project managers to meet deadlines and project goals

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
•5+ years of experience in mechanical design (preferably in machinery or packaging industry)
•Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
•Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
•Experience with pneumatics, motion systems, and automation is an asset
•Good problem-solving and analytical skills
•Strong communication and teamwork abilities
