Technical Lead - Atlassian Guard, Atlassian Cloud & Identity Security

Experience Required: 10-15 Years

Roles and Responsibilities:

The person will be responsible for leading Atlassian Guard administration, security operations, governance and technical support for the Technology tower. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud security, identity and access management, audit monitoring, data security controls, threat detection coordination, platform governance and integration with enterprise security and service management processes.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead day-to-day technical delivery and operations support for Atlassian Guard and related Atlassian Cloud security capabilities.

• Administer and support organization-level Atlassian Guard policies covering user security, authentication, external user controls, API token governance, data security policies, audit logs and security monitoring.

• Work with customer stakeholders, security teams, service owners and Atlassian administrators to define and enforce access, identity, data protection and operational governance requirements.

• Configure, review and maintain identity and access management controls such as SSO, user provisioning, groups, managed accounts, authentication policies and external collaborator controls as applicable.

• Support data security capabilities including classification, public link controls, export restrictions, third-party app access controls and policy-based governance for Jira, Confluence and other Atlassian Cloud applications.

• Monitor audit logs, organization activity, admin activity, user behavior, alerts and security events, and coordinate investigation/remediation with security and platform teams.

• Provide technical support for threat detection, sensitive data detection, data loss prevention, redaction/remediation workflows and alert triage where Atlassian Guard Premium capabilities are in scope.

• Coordinate integrations with enterprise security and operational systems such as SIEM, ITSM, monitoring tools, identity providers and reporting platforms using supported Atlassian capabilities.

• Lead incident, service request, problem, change and release activities related to Atlassian Guard configuration, security controls, policy updates and operational support.

• Guide developers, administrators and support analysts on Atlassian Cloud security best practices, governance, access reviews, operational documentation and escalation handling.

• Prepare and maintain technical design documents, SOPs, runbooks, policy documentation, governance standards, RCA documents, audit evidence, release notes and knowledge articles.

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for strengthening Atlassian security posture, reducing operational risk and improving user/access governance.

Experience Required:

• Good communication skills with ability to work with customer stakeholders, security teams, Atlassian administrators, service owners, technical leads and support teams.

• Minimum 10-15 years of IT experience with strong experience in Atlassian Cloud administration, security operations, identity governance or SaaS application security support.

• Strong hands-on experience with Atlassian Guard, Atlassian Administration, Jira, Confluence and organization-level administration in Atlassian Cloud.

• Experience with enterprise identity and access management concepts such as SSO, SAML, SCIM/user provisioning, managed accounts, groups, authentication policies and external user governance.

• Experience with audit logs, security monitoring, access reviews, API token governance, user lifecycle management and administration reporting.

• Experience supporting data protection controls such as data loss prevention, data classification, public sharing controls, export restrictions and third-party app access governance is preferred.

• Experience with threat detection, sensitive data alerts, security incident triage, remediation workflows, SIEM integration or security operations processes is preferred.

• Knowledge of Atlassian ecosystem tools and integrations such as Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket and marketplace app governance.

• Experience with ITIL processes including incident, service request, problem, change, release and knowledge management in managed services environments.

• Experience in utility, regulated enterprise, SaaS governance, compliance or enterprise security operating models is preferred.

• Ability to lead technical teams, perform peer reviews, coordinate escalations, create operational documentation and deliver tasks within agreed SLAs.

Technical Skills:

• Atlassian Guard, Atlassian Administration, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Atlassian Cloud organization administration.

• Identity and access management: SSO, SAML, SCIM/user provisioning, managed accounts, groups, authentication policies and external user security controls.

• User lifecycle management, API token governance, service account governance, access reviews, least-privilege controls and role-based access management.

• Data security policies, data loss prevention concepts, classification, public link controls, export restrictions, third-party app access restrictions and data sharing governance.

• Audit logs, admin activity monitoring, user activity monitoring, alert triage, security event analysis and operational reporting.

• Threat detection, sensitive data detection, redaction/remediation, investigation support and security incident response coordination where applicable.

• Integration awareness with identity providers, SIEM/SOC tools, ServiceNow/Jira Service Management, webhooks, APIs and enterprise reporting platforms.

• SaaS governance, release/change management, compliance support, audit evidence preparation and policy lifecycle management.

• ITIL, Agile delivery, DevOps collaboration, operational dashboards, SOPs, runbooks, RCA documentation and knowledge management.

• Basic understanding of security frameworks, zero trust concepts, data protection, privacy, compliance and enterprise cloud security practices.
