Working closely with Development Engineering, Mechanical Integrity Engineering, Program Management, NPI Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, suppliers, and customers, the Reliability Manager ensures that new products meet customer requirements, internal Quality Test Plans, applicable industry standards, and long-term performance expectations. The role leads and develops the Reliability Engineering team while advancing testing capabilities, technical standards, and continuous-improvement initiatives. The position works closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to identify risks, support design decisions, and ensure successful product launches. It also provides technical leadership, develops the Reliability Engineering team, and drives innovation and reliability improvements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead reliability engineering, product qualification, and validation activities for new and existing products.
  • Develop and execute reliability test plans, qualification strategies, and methodologies based on customer, industry, certification, and internal requirements.
  • Lead failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective-action activities for product and process issues.
  • Apply CRAM, ERAM, FMECA, DFMEA, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective-action methodologies to identify and mitigate product and process risks.
  • Analyze reliability, quality, and manufacturing data using SPC, Six Sigma tools, statistical methods, and other engineering techniques.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams and projects, providing technical direction and ensuring successful execution.
  • Review and interpret simulation, testing, and failure-analysis results and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Present complex technical information, testing results, simulations, and failure-analysis conclusions to customers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support product development and manufacturing processes involving high-speed stamping, injection molding, precious metal plating, and connector manufacturing.
  • Apply GD&T principles and statistical engineering methods to support product design and manufacturing decisions.
  • Perform and/or oversee FEA simulations and engineering analyses using SolidWorks and ANSYS.
  • Drive continuous improvement and corrective actions to improve product reliability, quality, and manufacturing performance.
  • Make advanced technical and business decisions with accountability for project and product outcomes.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Product Qualification, or New Product Introduction within electronics or connector manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Experience with reliability testing, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and qualification methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry testing standards, statistical analysis, and quality engineering principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret customer, industry, certification, and internal Quality Test Plan requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to analyze process and product problems using SPC, Six Sigma tools, and related methodologies.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles and statistical engineering methods.
  • Experience and proficiency with SolidWorks and FEA simulation software; ANSYS preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-speed I/O connectors, electromechanical products, data-center applications, or similar interconnect technologies preferred.
