Description
About the team Join the quality team at ZF Ontario to ensure superior quality and timely deliverables for our customers.
What you can look forward to as a Quality Technician:
- Develop and maintain core quality documents, including control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions.
- Lead and report on quality topics in daily/weekly cross-functional meetings (Shop Floor Management, Internal Change Management, Engineering Change Management).
- Manage PPAP documentation, capability studies, LPAs, Gauge R&R, and calibration verification.
- Monitor supplier quality performance, including rejections, sorting, chargebacks, corrective actions, and monthly PPM reporting.
- Review scrap data weekly, identify root causes for top losses, and drive internal and external 8D/Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Assess and improve product and process reliability by collecting, analyzing, and reporting inspection and performance data.
- Train operators on new products, process changes, and customer concerns using Work Instructions, Quality Alerts, and OPLs.
- Maintain documentation systems and complete additional quality-related tasks assigned by management.
- Work as a customer quality liaison.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your profile as a Quality Technician:
- Knowledge of SPC and Control Charts
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Engineering degree from accredited post-secondary institution – preferred.
- Supplemental training in CQE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, IATF Systems/Auditing.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality management position or equivalent – preferred.
- Must be flexible to work all 3 shifts (days, afternoons, and/or midnights).
