THE POSITIONReporting to the Production Manager, Associate Production Manager, and General Manager, the Production Assistant provides general support for daily production operations for Life After Toronto.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Transport of costumes / props, purchase of supplies as neededAssists with the set-up of rehearsal halls (including lifting / moving)Support the load in and out of theatre spaceSupport with various administrative tasksSKILLS AND EXPERIENCEBasic knowledge of : contemporary technical theatre techniques and materialstypical production schedules and timelines for mounting productionsExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, tact and diplomacyExcellent planning, organizational, and time-management skillsSelf-starter, detail oriented, adaptable to a flexible work scheduleAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentAbility to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlinesValid Ontario driving license Use of Own vehicle preferred (parking and mileage to be reimbursed)Comfort driving up to 20 ft truck (if needed)Comfort lifting and moving materials in / out of rehearsal halls, in / out of trucks, etc. WORKING CONDITIONSPerforms duties in a variety of environments, including construction shops, storage facilities, on stage, and regular office environments during flexible working hours.COMPENSATION & DURATION $22.00 / hour and up - (dependent on experience)This is a shift-based position, and the successful candidate can expect to work an average of 20-40 hours per week (further breakdown below) : March 4-23 (flexible hours for rehearsal hall load in, costume / prop transfers, pick ups, errands, etc)Mar 24-April 23 (heavier hours during load in / tech for production)April 23-31 (flexible, TBC if additional hours needed)Mondays will typically be free from work, to be discussed in further detail with successful candidate.
