Description Our client, located in Markham ON, is in search of a Production Supervisor (night shift) to join their team.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for all facets of the production operation through their supervision of a team of Production Technicians.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining a safe and enjoyable workplace for all production employees via such measures as
enforcement of proper PPE policy, optimal product flow, maintenance of housekeeping
standards, inventory of proper tools, etc.
Ensure adherence to the entire Anodizing Process from material staging, through racking and
anodizing, to packaging and safe / organized storage of finished product
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives
- Responsibility for the investigation of quality issues, ensuring they are addressed and
communicated in a timely manner
Responsible for the investigation of Health and Safety related incidents involving your crew and
as required, providing support to other facility incident investigations.
Responsibility for maintaining appropriate staffing levels on your shift to ensure the safe and
efficient execution of daily production demands.
- Verifying and approving payroll hours for your team
- Training, coaching, developing, collaborating with, engaging and mentoring your team
- Conducting objective performance evaluations for your team based on the achievement of
predetermined goals
- Collect, record, analyze and communicate relevant and reliable production and safety data
- Involvement in the maintenance of a visual management board that tracks the relevant KPI for
your team, communicates gaps when / where they occur, and in conjunction with your
manager(s), implement the corrective action plan
- Involvement in the maintenance of consumable items inventory (cardboard, clamps, racks, etc.)
- Maintain open lines of communication with your team, other departments, other supervisors
and your manager(s)
- Responsible for hosting daily pre-shift meetings with your team
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the business Job Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role
- Successful completion of a post-secondary program (degree or diploma) recommended
- Anodizing or other metal finishing experience preferred
- Computer literacy required (intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office) Technical Skills / Competence
