Scope of Position :
Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Staff and as a member of the multidisciplinary care team, to provide and assist Residents with daily personal care using a Resident centred model, being aware of the whole persons’ emotional, physical, intellectual, cultural and spiritual needs.
Position Description :
- Provide daily personal care for the Residents, using a personal centred model.
- Observe and report any changes in the Resident’s needs to the Registered staff.
- Clean specified nursing / Resident equipment.
- Report any maintenance / safety requirements and / or shortages of equipment / supplies required to complete his / her work to the Registered Staff.
- Attend at and / or provide information to the following : interdisciplinary team meetings, Nursing Department meetings and Nursing report sessions with Registered Staff.
- Participate as a team member in providing Resident centred care and service.
- Undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety standards, guidelines and legislation.
- Participate in annual mandatory education as per MOHLTC regulations as well as in-service educational opportunities.
- To adhere to infection control policies, procedures, protocols, routines and additional practices as required.
- Maintain awareness (at all times) of emergency procedures; participate in drills and associated educational opportunities.
- Complete required documentation.
- Be aware of and comply with all Corporate and home policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
