Maintenance work keeps our Home safe, comfortable, and running smoothly, ensuring Residents and staff have a clean, functional environment every day. Help support some of the most vulnerable people in your community in this role.
If you were working for us as a Maintenance Worker, here are some of the things you would have done last week:
- Performed general maintenance and upkeep of the building, including plumbing, heating and cooling systems, electrical repairs, plastering, painting, and other assigned tasks
- Prioritized tasks according to the needs of the Home
- Moved resident and non-resident furniture safely within the Home
- Maintained logs and records for work performed, including materials and equipment used
- Ensured tools and equipment were in proper working order
- Assisted with preventative maintenance, utilizing computerized systems to track work and schedules
- Monitored the Home for maintenance and safety issues, taking action or reporting concerns as appropriate
- Adhered to all policies, procedures, and legislative standards, ensuring a safe and compliant environment
- Supported special projects such as carpet cleaning, painting, or backup maintenance tasks
- Responded to emergency call-ins to ensure continuity of a safe environment
- And supported your team as needed.

Qualifications
To be hired into this role, you must have:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of building and fire codes in Long term care
- Must be available for emergency “call-in’s”
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
- TB 2 Step updated within the last year
