Skills
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and standards.
• Expert use of measuring tools and knowledge of calibration systems.
• Solid understanding of steel materials and metallurgy.
• Familiarity with processes like forging, heat treating, and machining.
• Knowledge of industrial coatings, including galvanizing and painting.
• Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as a self-motivated professional.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
• Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods using engineering drawings.
• Write inspection, NCR, and CAR reports manually or on a computer.
• Use lab equipment to test if products meet specific requirements.
• Manage the calibration of measuring instruments and gauges.
• Assist the engineering team with failure analysis and prototype testing.
• Verify the quality of work for the custom fabrication team.
• Follow established procedures for inspecting incoming manufactured parts.
• Work with outside labs and calibration services as needed.
QualificationsRequirements
• 3 to 5 years of quality inspection experience in steel manufacturing.
• Post-secondary diploma in Metallurgy or a related technical field.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management principles.
• Ability to work the afternoon shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm).
• Comfortable working in a shop floor environment with associated risks.
