Position Type / Hours :
Temporary, 2.5 hours Saturday Mornings, excluding holiday weekends.
Annual Compensation :
$28.22 + 4% per hour
Specific duties and responsibilities include :
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Continuing Education School, the International & Indigenous Languages Instructor is responsible for the delivery of the Board’s International & Indigenous Languages program in the one of the following languages, Korean, Tamil, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew and Portuguese.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalency.
- Demonstrated experience in working with children in a learning environment.
- Proven ability to work in both a cooperative and independent environment.
- Ensuring a positive and safe learning environment for all students, staff and members of the public.
- Be responsible for following the curriculum as well as making lesson plans, planning activities for children. May include a minimum of two events to showcase the students’ international language skills for the parents (Christmas and year end).
- Attending all necessary virtual meetings as they relate to the program
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated proficiency with computers.
- First Aid Certification would be an asset
- If travel within the Board’s jurisdiction is required, candidates must have access to transportation.
