Our client a medium sized public accounting firm is looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join their team in Scarborough, Ontario. In this leadership role, you will oversee a range of assurance, accounting, tax, and advisory services, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. As a key contributor to the firm’s growth, you will lead a functional area, guide team members, and foster strong relationships through effective mentorship and collaboration.
Responsibilities :
- Manage a portfolio of clients, maintaining high service standards and supporting the firm’s objectives.
- Review tax, audit, and assurance files for clients across various industries and non-profit organizations, ensuring compliance with firm standards.
- Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, demonstrating strong project management skills to deliver quality results within deadlines and budgets.
- Collaborate with the partner team to contribute to the development and execution of the firm’s business plan.
- Prepare realistic budgets and quotes for new client engagements, ensuring profitability and feasibility.
- Lead and oversee teams during assurance engagements, providing guidance and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, partners, and team members to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Mentor and train team members to support their technical growth and career development.
- Promote the firm’s services to drive business development and overall growth.
- Participate in leadership activities such as performance reviews, recruitment efforts, and fostering a positive team environment.
- A CPA, CA Professional Designation
- Minimum 5 years experience in public accounting (including audit experience)
- Strong understanding / experience with IFRS, ASPE and ASNPO accounting standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative with the ability to “think outside the box”
- Well developed consulting skills – possesses an understanding of client businesses and uses this knowledge to help diagnose needs / opportunities and suggest solutions
- Anticipate and identify complex assignment issues and co-operate closely with the engagement partner or other firm experts in resolving them
- Well organized with superior attention to detail / accuracy
- Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Solid communication skills (both verbal & written) with an emphasis on customer service
- Aptitude to work in a team environment as well as independently
