Job Summary

  • Responsible for maintaining a constant inventory of clean laboratory glassware and a clean washing area. Responsible and accountable for executing the laboratory waste disposal program.
  • Responsible and accountable for compliance with all aspects of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as Apotex’s Health and Safety policies, Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Safety Charter.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and address all potential Health and Safety hazards in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform automatic and manual cleaning of laboratory glassware according to approved procedure and ensuring the availability of glasswares for use in the laboratory.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supply of lab consumable items in stock rooms at all times.
  • Maintain a constant inventory of basic lab and cleaning supplies and glassware for general lab use.
  • Perform clerical support and other related duties as required.
  • Responsible for collecting laboratory waste, including liquid waste, lab pack waste, syringes and vial waste, and disposing waste according to established protocol.
  • Issuing ElectronicWaste Disposal record in a timely manner and collobaorate with FSS department for safe removal of waste
  • Repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs is involved.
  • Perform LIMS entries for laboratory chemicals including preparation of labels and disposal of empty bottles.
  • Maintain an orderly work area, including cleaning of sinks and countertops throughout the laboratory on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with team members accros shift to achieve all outcomes.
  • Demonstrates corporate values in the performance of the work and interactions with others.
  • Performs additional related duties, as assigned, in accordance with job responsibilities and necessary departmental objectives.
  • Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

  • Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.

Job Requirements

  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a Lab environment would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Written and Verbal English communication.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, other Microsoft office programs, and laboratory software packages would be an asset.

The hiring range for this position is $37,216.49 - 52,103.08 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
