About Our Client
Our client is sourcing a Financial Consultant for a 3-month contract.
About the Opportunity
- Manage day to day accounting and provide oversight to Accounting team
Prepare and manage month end close process
Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting functions
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements and management reports
Work closely with external auditors
Assist in preparation of budget and financial forecasts; review spending and budgets monthly with CFO and Accounting team
Manage and comply with government reporting requirements including corporate tax
Oversee risk management and compliance
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures, in accordance with good practices of internal control and generally accepted accounting principles
Ensuring compliance with provincial and federal laws and process Government and Provincial Sales Tax payments.
Manage payroll processes and functions and ensure payroll compliance
Define, update, and implement finance and accounting objectives that are aligned with company strategy
Identify important company financial trends and recommend solutions to management team
Lead day-to-day full-cycle accounting and finance functions (hands on)
Prepare and analyze timely monthly financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
Own banking activities, treasury management, covenant reporting, weekly uploads to bank
Create, improve and maintain internal controls for accurate financial reporting and for compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
About You
CPA Designation required
7+ years hands on, progressive experience in Financial Operations (full cycle accounting, including financial reporting and analysis)
3+ years at leadership level
Company Size : Small to mid size (hands on start-up / high growth environment preferred)
Industry : Tangible goods related
Previous audit experience (liaising with auditors or worked in Public Accounting)
