Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will play a key role in overseeing accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic financial decision-making and process improvements within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close procedures and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system (NetSuite).
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and other management reports for each month-end
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reporting packages for management and stakeholders
- Monitor cash flow, credit, and collections activities
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data, variance analysis, and recommendations to inform strategic planning
- File HST returns accurately and on time in compliance with CRA requirements
- Participate in the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions while supporting the AP and AR team
- Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Director of Finance
- Handle other duties and projects as assigned
