Our client is a well‑established family office based in Montréal, with the majority of its investments dedicated to real estate. With an active presence in both property development and property management, they oversee the full lifecycle of their real‑estate portfolio. Beyond real estate, the group also manages severalplementary investment vehicles in public and private markets. As they continue to grow and structure their operations, they are looking to appoint a Director of Finance to lead their finance function.
Your new role
As the Director of Finance, you will serve as the head of the finance department and a strategic partner to ownership. You will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, treasury, andpliance. You will be responsible for implementing robust internal controls, enhancing financial processes, and developing reporting structures that support effective decision‑making.You will manage and mentor a small but growing team, ensuring operational excellence while laying the foundation for scalable financial systems. You will also contribute to financial strategy—supporting investment analyses, real‑estate project evaluations, and long‑term planning across both real‑estate and diversified investment portfolios.What you'll need to succeed
- CPA designation (mandatory)
- Experience leading and managing teams, with a hands‑on leadership approach
- Strong background in implementing internal controls, reporting structures, and efficient financial processes
- Ability to drive financial strategy, support executive decision‑making, and provide clear financial insights
- Experience within a real‑estate, investment, or institutional environment is an asset.
- Fully bilingual, with strong spoken and written French and English
