Job description

We are seeking an IT Business Analyst consultant to contribute to the delivery of concrete, well-understood, and thoroughly tested digital solutions.
In this role, you will work at the heart of interactions between business lines, IT teams, vendors, and key stakeholders. You will be responsible for clarifying needs, documenting processes, structuring requirements, supporting solution decisions, and guiding users through to adoption.
We are looking for someone who applies a rigorous, BABOK-inspired approach—capable of eliciting needs, analyzing impacts, managing requirement traceability, and translating business needs into clear, testable deliverables.
A strong quality assurance component is part of the mandate: writing test cases, executing functional tests, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), tracking defects, and validating that the solution truly meets business expectations.
Although the title is Business Analyst, this role is suited to someone who also enjoys writing tests, testing solutions, and actively contributing to the quality of deliverables.

Desired Profile
 Experience as an IT business analyst on application or integration projects.
 Solid understanding of BABOK and the ability to explain how to apply it in a project context.
 Ability to facilitate workshops, structure complex needs, and produce clear requirements.
 Strong interest in quality assurance, functional testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
 Rigor, analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong communication skills with both business and IT teams.
 French required; functional to advanced English preferred.

Advantages
THIS ROLE OFFERS:

We are seeking an IT Business Analyst consultant who wants to make a tangible contribution to delivering digital solutions that are useful, well-understood, and thoroughly tested. In this role, you will be at the heart of interactions between business lines, IT teams, external vendors, and key stakeholders. You will help clarify needs, structure requirements, document processes, evaluate solution options, and support users through to adoption. The position requires strong analytical rigor but also a keen interest in quality assurance: writing test scenarios, preparing functional tests, executing tests, supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validating that the solution truly meets business needs. Although the job title is Business Analyst, we are looking for someone who enjoys testing, documenting results, identifying gaps, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality of delivered solutions.

Responsibilities
YOUR CONTRIBUTION:
 Collaborate closely with project managers, as well as architecture, cybersecurity, development, and quality assurance teams, external vendors, and business lines to deliver solutions aligned with stakeholder needs and constraints.
 Plan and facilitate workshops to elicit, clarify, and validate requirements with local, remote, or multidisciplinary teams.
 Analyze business needs, objectives, constraints, operational impacts, functional and non-functional requirements, and business rules.
 Document current and future-state processes, information flows, user journeys, requirements, and acceptance criteria in a clear, structured, and actionable manner.
 Apply a structured approach based on BABOK standards, particularly regarding elicitation, strategic analysis, requirements lifecycle management, requirements analysis, solution definition, and value delivery assessment.
 Translate business needs into deliverables that are understandable for technical teams and vendors, while maintaining traceability between needs, requirements, solutions, and tests.
 Assess the impact of proposed changes on processes, systems, data, users, and operations.
 Assist in identifying risks, dependencies, assumptions, and items requiring clarification to support decision-making.
 Prepare supporting documentation, user guides, training materials, and communications necessary for solution adoption.
 Participate in change management activities and support users during transition phases.

 Propose improvements to business analysis and quality validation methods, templates, and practices.

QUALITY ASSURANCE AND TESTING:
 Develop functional test strategies, scenarios, and cases based on requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
 Execute functional tests, document results, log defects, and track them through to resolution.
 Collaborate with development teams, vendors, and users to clarify discrepancies, prioritize fixes, and validate adjustments.
 Organize, support, and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including data preparation, participant coordination, and results consolidation.
 Promote a culture of quality starting from the analysis phase by ensuring requirements are testable, measurable, and linked to clear business value.
 Gradually evolve the role’s contribution toward more structured quality assurance practices, based on project needs.

Qualifications
DESIRED PROFILE:
 Significant experience as an IT business analyst, ideally in project
environments involving application solutions, integrations, operational
processes, or external vendors.
 Solid understanding of BABOK and the ability to explain how its
knowledge areas, tasks, techniques, and underlying competencies
can be applied in a real-world project context.
 Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops, structure complex needs,
ask the right questions, and translate gathered information into clear,
complete, and testable requirements.
 Experience documenting processes, requirements, business rules,
acceptance criteria, use cases, user stories, or other analysis
deliverables tailored to the project context.
 Genuine interest in quality assurance, writing test cases, executing
functional tests, and validating solutions directly with users.
 Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT), defect management,
and collaborating with development teams or vendors to ensure
deliverable quality.

 Analytical mindset, rigor, organizational skills, attention to detail, and
the ability to work in an environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
 Ability to communicate clearly with business, technical, and
management stakeholders, explaining complex issues in accessible
terms when necessary.
 Proficiency with modeling or documentation tools such as BPMN,
Visio, Office, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or equivalent tools.
 Ability to work effectively in French; functional to advanced English
proficiency required for collaborating with certain vendors, partners,
or internal teams and for reviewing documentation.
 Certification or training in business analysis, BABOK, IIBA, quality
assurance, or software testing considered an asset.
