The Volunteer’s Role
Cuso International is on the lookout for a passionate individual eager to join the Volunteering Cooperation Program! As a Graphic Designer Advisor, you'll harness your talents in visual communication, branding, and digital storytelling to showcase the remarkable impact of international volunteering and collaborative efforts focused on alleviating poverty.
In this exciting role, you'll contribute to the SHARE Project alongside the Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) in beautiful Iringa, Tanzania.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Assist selected Small and Medium Enterprises in creating or enhancing a distinctive brand that stands out in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with SMEs to identify their needs and effectively document the design brief.
- Maintain regular communication with the SME, providing updates and guidance on design style, format, production processes, and timelines.
- Generate concepts, graphics, and layouts for product illustrations, corporate logos, product packaging, and websites.
- Decide on the size and arrangement of visual elements and text, including font style and size.
- Evaluate final layouts and recommend enhancements as necessary.
- Consistently engage with external printers to ensure deadlines are adhered to and materials are produced to the highest quality standards.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in marketing, Graphic Design and/or relevant experience
Essential Background:
- Outstanding Graphic Designer with experience collaborating with external vendors and consultants, proficient in establishing project milestones while ensuring that both internal and external team members adhere to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities, a strong dedication to teamwork, and the capacity to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality results.

Volunteer Support and Requirements
Support Package
Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards. This includes:
- Monthly living allowance
- Accommodation

- Round-trip airfare and visa/work permit costs
- Pre-placement, in-country and reintegration training (along with access to self-directed materials and online resources)

Selection and Screening
If you are shortlisted, you will need to:
- Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel
- Provide two professional references and one personal reference
- Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview
- Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure
- Comply with anti-terrorism checks
- Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct
