Job description

URGENT: We are currently seeking a faculty member to teach English and Scholarly Writing (ENGL 1105). This course supports degree-level learning, primarily within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and may also be offered as an elective in other disciplines.

This is a 15-week contract position requiring approximately 3 hours of instruction per week. It is ideal for professionals interested in sharing their expertise in a flexible, part-time teaching role.

The course may be delivered in person, online, or through a hybrid format. The course start date is May 4, 2026.


Academic Responsibilities

  • Deliver course content aligned with undergraduate degree standards, including learning outcomes, assessments, and instructional activities

  • Foster scholarly inquiry and evidence-based reasoning

  • Maintain accurate academic records and adhere to institutional grading practices

  • Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with program leadership and faculty to support student success and uphold academic quality standards



Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in English Studies or a closely related discipline

  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level, with demonstrated ability to engage and support degree-level learners, is considered a strong asset

  • Strong understanding of learning outcomes, assessment design, and academic standards aligned with undergraduate education

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills

  • Demonstrated ability to foster critical thinking, academic writing, and scholarly inquiry in students
