Join Our Team as a Production Operator at Johnson Electric!

Location: Waterloo, ON (Onsite)
Facility: ITS
Department: Production
Salary Range: $24/Hour
Vacancy Type: Existing Position

As our next ProductionOperator, you will be responsible for operating CNC machinery, assembling and inspecting products, and following standardized work instructions to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives and requires strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating CNC machines safely and efficiently
  • Assembling and inspecting products according to standard work instructions
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and production sheets
  • Using precision measuring instruments to ensure part quality
  • Troubleshooting basic machining and material issues
  • Handling machine parts manually with mechanical precision
  • Maintaining traceability and process documentation requirements
  • Following all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, including WHMIS
  • Supporting 5S, SPS, and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with production and plant personnel
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post‑secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Experience operating CNC machines preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately use and interpret measuring systems
  • Good understanding of process sheets and quality standards
  • Basic mathematical skills with a focus on accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong safety awareness and reliable attendance

Work Environment

  • Indoor manufacturing environment with noise and variable temperatures
  • Continuous standing, walking, reaching, and bending
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (assistance available)
  • Fast‑paced production setting
  • Overtime and shift work may be required
