Brandt is currently seeking an Equipment Field Technician for our Laval Construction & Forestry location.This position is responsible for performing installations, calibrations, commissioning, service and repair of various machine control systems. These machine control systems consist of electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic components and are installed on most makes and models of heavy equipment including but not limited to crawler dozers, motor graders, excavators, skid steers, paving systems, etc. These duties may be performed in the field or in a work shop environment. Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforming inspections, testing, diagnostics and repairs on electronic devices and components such as pipe lasers, laser levels, GPS receivers, GPS antennas, display screens, data collectors, etc. using various test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and various collimation toolsOpening, maintaining, and closing work ordersSubmission of technician reports and other relevant information based on the type of work completedInternal and external customer phone supportMentoring, training, and supervision of other members of the service teamTravel will be requiredOther duties as assignedRequired SkillsStrong customer service orientation and is able to communicate with customers as requiredExcellent verbal and listening communication skillsAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible mannerShows initiative in learning about our products and customersExcellent time management skillsCritical eye for identifying defects and a high attention to detailCommitment to quality and safetyProactive in ensuring job knowledge is currentAbility to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a jobAbility to work independently and complete daily activities according to work scheduleMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsRequired experienceHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalentA college, university, or technical trade program in electronics2+ years of relevant work experienceCandidates must have experience with welding, mill writing, power tools, and knowledge of heavy equipment
