We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. This role offers the opportunity to work on municipal, industrial, and commercial projects across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare drawings, specifications, cost estimates and reports for mechanical design projects.
  • Design HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, controls systems, and specialized piping systems (natural gas, fuel oil).
  • Perform mechanical calculations for ductwork, piping, and equipment sizing.
  • Develop equipment schedules and coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate design.
  • Conduct energy modeling for LEED, Green Globes, and Green Buildings Initiatives.
  • Complete facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, and design briefs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and respond to internal/external project inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer ( licensed with APEGNB/Engineers NS or eligible for registration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience as Engineer of record in building and industrial design.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Code, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards.
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM; AutoCAD experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with spec writing, HAP, and energy modeling tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AI tools is an asset.
