Job description
Are you a Civil Engineer passionate about designing sustainable infrastructure and managing urban projects? Do you want to grow within a consulting engineering firm that combines the technical expertise of large corporations with the agility and friendliness of a human-scale structure? We are currently recruiting an Intermediate Engineer – Civil Engineering to join a multidisciplinary team located in the heart of Montreal.

In this key role within the Engineering & design category, you will actively participate in the delivery of varied projects involving municipal infrastructure, transportation, land development, and hydraulics. You will have the opportunity to leverage your technical expertise to design innovative solutions in water cycle management, infrastructure rehabilitation, and real estate development.

As a Civil Engineer, you won't just be a number; you will be a central player in the success of projects. You will work in an environment where integrity, rigor, and respect for the client are at the core of the company's DNA. If you are looking for a stimulating environment that values autonomy and offers real advancement prospects within the Engineering & design sector, this position is for you.

We are looking for someone who can navigate easily between technical design, interdisciplinary coordination, and client relations. By joining our partners via Randstad Operational, you access a career opportunity where your skills in civil engineering will be recognized and where you can build infrastructures that shape the future of our communities.

Advantages
Why choose this Engineering & design position in Montreal?

• Participation in stimulating and varied projects with concrete local and national reach. • Integration into a collaborative, dynamic work team focused on talent development. • Competitive salary conditions adapted to your experience.
• A complete range of social benefits for your well-being and that of your family.
• Flexible schedules and the possibility of hybrid remote work for better work-life balance.
• Continuing education program and real opportunities for progression towards a senior role.
• Work environment located in Montreal, easily accessible.

Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Engineer – Civil Engineering, your daily tasks will include:

• Actively participating in the design and detailed planning of civil engineering projects (roads, water and sewer networks, stormwater management, retention basins).
• Developing, reviewing, and validating plans, technical specifications, and expertise reports to ensure compliance with municipal and environmental standards.
• Performing complex calculations, hydraulic and hydrological analyses, as well as infrastructure sizing.
• Acting as a mentor by supervising and supporting technicians and drafters in the production of deliverables.
• Effectively coordinating activities with other project disciplines (structure, environment, transportation, electrical) to ensure seamless integration.
• Participating in overall project management: rigorous tracking of schedules, quality control, and adherence to established budgets.
• Collaborating closely with clients, municipal representatives, and external partners to ensure satisfaction and the success of mandates.
• Providing original and agile solutions to technical challenges encountered in the field.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this Engineering & design position must possess:

• Excellent mastery of municipal norms and standards currently in force in Quebec.
• In-depth knowledge of design software, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite and, ideally, calculation and hydraulic modeling software.
• A keen sense of organization, high rigor, and the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and a strong team spirit fostering collaboration.
• A problem-solving oriented approach and the ability to demonstrate agility in a dynamic environment.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Relevant experience of 5 to 10 years in the design and project management of municipal infrastructure or transportation.
• Demonstrated experience in consulting engineering (a major asset).
