Day or Afternoon Shift | Solid Pay | Steady Work | Good Crew

If youre the kind of mechanic who can figure things out without someone standing over your shoulderand you take pride in keeping iron movingwe want to talk.

Weve got a busy, well-established construction outfit just outside Ottawa with a strong fleet of trucks and heavy equipment that needs a reliable hand. This isnt a sit around and wait shop. Theres steady work, a good group in the shop, and management that actually understands what it takes to keep equipment running.

What Youll Be Working On

  • Mix of heavy trucks + off-road construction equipment
  • Everything from PMs and inspections to major component work
  • Diagnosing issues using modern diagnostic tools + old-school know-how
  • Tearing down and rebuilding components when needed
  • Keeping equipment safe, reliable, and job-site ready

Day-to-Day

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
  • Handle repairs big and small (engines, hydraulics, driveline, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Test equipment after repairs to make sure its right
  • Keep track of work completed (nothing fancy, just accurate)
  • Help out junior guys when neededno ego, just teamwork

What You Bring

  • T Truck & Coach OR A Heavy Equipment Tech (Red Seal preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic skillsyou can chase down a problem and fix it properly
  • Comfortable doing major repairs, not just parts swapping
  • Your own tools
  • Valid drivers license (clean abstract)

Bonus Points If Youve Got

  • Welding or fabrication skills
  • Experience with construction fleets
  • Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software

Shifts Available

  • Day Shift: MondayFriday
  • Afternoon Shift: MondayFriday, 2:00 PM 12:00 AM
  • Whether youre an early riser or prefer working later, theres flexibility here.

Pay & Perks

  • $40$50/hr depending on license and experience
  • Benefits, pension, and wellness programs
  • Steady, year-round work (no seasonal layoffs)
  • Opportunities to move up or specialize
  • A shop that values safety, common sense, and a solid days work

Why This Job?

  • Youre not a number heregood techs are respected
  • Equipment is worth fixing (not junk held together with hope)
  • Management actually listens
  • Youll work with a crew that pulls their weight

If youre tired of bouncing around shops or dealing with chaos and want something stable with a good teamthis is worth a look.
