QA Automation Engineer (Java) – Performance & DevOps

Location:

Montreal, QC (Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Java, performance testing, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and executing automated test suites, conducting performance testing, and collaborating closely with development teams in a microservices-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites
Perform system, integration, and performance testing on web applications and REST APIs
Execute load and performance testing using tools such as JMeter or equivalent
Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations
Collaborate with developers to test new features and ensure quality standards
Contribute to DevOps automation and continuous integration processes
Support testing of both legacy systems and new product development
Continuously improve testing strategies, tools, and processes

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of experience in system testing and test automation
Strong hands-on experience in performance and load testing
Proficiency with tools such as JMeter (or similar)
Solid experience with Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot
Experience testing web applications and REST APIs
Strong knowledge of:
- Jenkins
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Spinnaker
- Helm
- REST & JSON
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and/or Python
Experience working in a Linux environment
Familiarity with cloud-native and microservices architectures
Experience working in a DevOps environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Passion for learning new technologies and adapting to change

Nice to Have

Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j)
Familiarity with Robot Framework for automation
