Job description

Job Overview: The Senior Market Development Agronomist will collaborate with sales leadership and other team members to develop and deliver agronomic and crop production solutions for farm customers, driving commercial success. In this role, you will contribute to new product development and market positioning to expand the assigned region. Relocation assistance is available for this role.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in crop production, mentoring and training internal teams and external clients.
  • Execute the organisation's crop input market development strategies, including customer field meetings, product trials, agronomy events, and marketing support.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key crop input suppliers.
  • Provide regional insights using agronomic expertise to identify new crop opportunities, generating incremental revenue.
  • Partner with existing and prospective customers, collaborating with sales teams to optimise crop planning, seed selection, nutrient management, pest control, disease prevention, and harvest strategies.
  • Manage complex issues independently, escalating only the most critical matters to relevant staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma, certificate, or bachelor's degree in agronomy or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years of directly related experience in agronomy or crop management.
  • Eligible for membership in the Provincial Institute of Agrologists, with future CCA accreditation required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in crop science, soil management, and plant health.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong active listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • CCA or PAg designation.
  • Proven ability to influence customer behaviour and guide decision-making.
