Duties and Responsibilities
College of the North Atlantic, in partnership with Atlantic Colleges Atlantique (ACA), is leading a 2025-2028 initiative to expand the green buildings and retrofits workforce across Atlantic Canada. This project includes developing two new training programs : the Atlantic Canada Green Seal Certification and the Orientation to the Green Buildings and Retrofits Sector; delivered through blended learning, mobile training units, VR technology, and in-class instruction.
We are seeking a Program Developer to lead the design and development of curriculum for these programs, supporting Canada's net-zero transition and an inclusive, future‑ready workforce. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Program Developer will collaborate closely with EDI, research, and curriculum teams across ACA colleges.
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of micro credentials and training materials for the Green Seal and Orientation programs.
- Coordinate curriculum development with five ACA colleges; create learning outcomes, competencies, assessments, and course materials.
- Develop flexible, modular learning resources for classroom, online, and mobile delivery across Atlantic Canada.
- Collaborate with SMEs, industry, and community partners to ensure curriculum is current and industry aligned.
- Apply inclusive design principles to support diverse learners, including youth, mid‑career workers, and jobseekers.
- Integrate current sustainable construction practices and emerging technologies to support Canada's net‑zero transition.
- Incorporate Indigenous knowledge systems where appropriate.
- Work with instructional designers on multimedia, simulations, and VR components.
- Support program rollout, quality monitoring, and continuous improvement throughout the 2025-2028 project.
- Ensure curriculum quality, consistency, accessibility, and alignment with standards, codes, and certification requirements.
- Conduct needs assessments, focus groups, and consultations with faculty, industry, and community partners.
- Facilitate advisory meetings across ACA institutions and validate skill needs with industry associations.
- Collaborate with equity‑deserving community groups and technology partners on learning resources.
- Support project reporting and perform other related duties.
