Job description

Our Story & Purpose :

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,700 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members :

As a Senior Analyst, HR Reporting & Analytics, you will play a strategic role in advancing People & Culture’s data maturity. You’ll go beyond standard reporting to design, automate, and evolve sophisticated people analytics solutions that enable leaders to make evidence-based decisions. This role owns the end-to-end HR reporting and analytics lifecycle - from data extraction and transformation through insight generation and visualization - and serves as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on workforce trends, risks, and opportunities.

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work in-office at least once a week.

How You'll Make an Impact :

  • Generating HR reports to effectively capture data needed for reporting including creating and running standard reports, and creating ad-hoc reports
  • Designing and maintaining scalable reporting pipelines, leveraging R, Python, SQL, or similar tools to streamline data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Responding to ad-hoc reporting requests, provide support and training as required to facilitate HR operations and respond to external surveys which provide valuable and informative talent benchmarking.
  • Partnering with stakeholders in the organization to translate complex workforce data and requirements to develop easy to understand reports and dashboards using a variety of tools (UKG Pro People Analytics, Power BI, Excel).
  • Meeting the regular monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reporting deadlines including Talent dashboards, Internal and External Audits, Annual Reporting, Board reporting etc.
  • Administering the HR BI Reporting environment by providing improvements and simplification to the self-serve option to users, while adhering to data governance and privacy policies.
  • Supporting the HR Systems team by providing best advice regarding new updates or features in terms of data input, data quality, and database management.
  • Monitoring industry trends related to talent intelligence to inform the development and optimization of guidelines, principles and tools.

What You’ll Bring to the Team :

  • Post Secondary Education / Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR analytics, people analytics, or business intelligence
  • Advanced analytical skills, including hands-on experience with R, Python, or similar programming languages for data analysis and automation
  • Strong experience with data visualization and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of people analytics, workforce metrics, and human capital data.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • IBM Cognos BI experience is an asset
  • SQL, UKG Dimensions / Workforce Central (formerly Kronos), UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) experience is an asset
  • You’ll Thrive Here If You Are :

  • A detail-oriented, ever-curious, analytical professional who would thrive in bringing value to the organization through HR reporting and analytics sourced from a complex data environment.
  • A self-starter who spots opportunities for improvements and is excited to deliver them once having consulted with impacted parties. You find the challenge of bringing a fresh perspective to the existing reporting system to deliver an easy, simplified, self-serve solution to a broader audience across the organization to be invigorating.
  • Flexible and easily adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on the overarching quarterly and annual priorities.
  • Highly analytical, you enjoy relaying insights in an easy-to digest format to your stakeholders knowing that this will help inform them in their day to day decision making and will aid in planning, delivering and evaluating talent initiatives at all levels of the organization.
  • We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

    What You’ll Earn :

This role offers a salary range of $ 76,500 to $95,000 . The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

Why You’ll Love Working Here :

A career at Vancity is more than just a job, you’re joining a tradition of change-makers who are creating lasting change for our communities. Beyond base pay, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package to ensure our employees are empowered to thrive :

  • Living Wage Employer : We’re the largest private-sector Living Wage Employer in Canada and consistently ranked among Canada’s Top Employers.
  • Customizable Benefits : Permanent employees receive flexible benefit packages that can be tailored annually to meet evolving needs.
  • Generous Vacation : New employees start with 3-4 weeks of vacation per year, with additional days earned over time.
  • Extra Stat Holidays : In addition to BC’s 11 statutory holidays, we offer 2 extra days, plus care days for personal or family illness.
  • Immediate Health Coverage : Health and dental benefits begin on your hire date, with three levels of coverage to choose from.
  • Defined Benefit Pension : Our retirement plan provides a guaranteed income for life, recognizing that retirement looks different for everyone.
  • Vancity Talent Programs :

Vancity supports an inclusive hiring process for candidates who self-identify as Indigenous, Black, or Trans.
