About Our Client
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract.

The Financial Analyst will support the preparation and delivery of accurate financial statements and reports. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting background, advanced Excel skills, and experience working with large datasets. Exposure to project-based environments and SAP S/4HANA are considered an asset. This role focuses on financial reporting, variance analysis, and ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.

About the Opportunity
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Perform detailed variance analysis (period-over-period and actual vs. prior results) and provide clear, concise commentary
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data across reports and systems
  • Work with large datasets using Advanced Excel (including VBA and macros) to streamline and automate reporting
  • Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to validate financial results and resolve discrepancies
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Utilize ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) for data extraction and reconciliation, where applicable
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes and internal controls

About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong accounting background with solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA and macros)
  • Experience with financial close and reporting cycles
  • Experience working in project-based environments or supporting project financials is an asset
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other ERP systems is an asset
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in preparing financial commentary
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple reporting requirements
