Job descriptionUndergraduate degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 3 years of experience working with BI tools such as Power BI (preferred) or Tableau. Minimum 3 years of experience with SQL-based languages such as Microsoft T‑SQL or MySQL. Experience with programming languages used in analytics, such as Python or R. Proven ability to design and maintain data models and transform complex datasets. Working knowledge of statistical analysis, data visualization, and reporting best practices. Working knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms (e.g., regression, k‑NN, SVM, ensemble methods). Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and database design principles. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. This is a full‑time position that is required to work in‑office, Monday through Friday. This position qualifies for our 4‑day workweek program. This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications. Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.

The Business Data Analyst will play a key role in driving data-informed decision-making across West Edmonton Mall’s Parks and Attractions division.
This role covers a wide range of analytical initiatives, leveraging disciplines from data science, analytics, and data engineering — including visualization, modeling, data transformation, and machine learning — to uncover insights and optimize business performance.
This role will be responsible for establishing and growing the analytics program at West Edmonton Mall through continued collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Design and implement data-driven solutions to business challenges, including website and customer behaviour insights.
- Collect, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Build and maintain descriptive reports, dashboards, and visualizations in Power BI to communicate key metrics and trends.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses, statistical testing, and data modeling to identify insights and opportunities.
- Develop and apply supervised and unsupervised learning models to support business initiatives.
- Collaborate with business partners to translate needs into analytical requirements and actionable insights.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly and confidently to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Perform other related duties as required.
