Subject : International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program Science (MYP)
FTE : 1.0 Temporary (Maternity Leave)
Start Date : September 2025 - June 2026 school year
Salary Range : $55,828.39 - $100,518.93 dependent on education and experience

The successful candidate will be required to :

Develop and deliver IB units incorporating the BC Curriculum

Participate fully in our school community programs and culture

Support and monitor student academic and personal growth

Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs

Select instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs

Stay updated with developments in teaching resources and methods, and incorporate relevant changes

Assess and evaluate class work, homework, tests, and assignments regularly

Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and development

Supervise Extended Essays and Personal Projects

Embrace inquiry-based teaching and learning

Update all records according to IB, Ministry, and school policies

Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures

Participate in faculty and parent-teacher meetings, among others

Support class coverage and lunch supervision as needed

Qualifications and Experience :

Current BC teaching certificate or in the process of obtaining one, with expected completion before September 2025 (proof required)

Experience teaching at the middle school level

Experience with BC Curriculum and IB teaching experience

Boarding school experience is an asset

First Aid Level 1 or higher is an asset

Brookes Westshore School Society offers a comprehensive total compensation package, small class sizes, a supportive teaching environment, Employee and Employer paid benefits, RRSP contributions, and a meal plan.
