Job description

Is this role right for you?

In this role, you will:

  • Guidance and Direction: Provide clear direction to the team, set goals, and keep the team accountable for their deliverables. Align team goals with the overall direction of the Data & AI technology roadmap and enterprise standards.
  • Relationships: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to facilitate the effective delivery of operating model and support structures. Communicate proactively with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams (Platform, Security, Cloud Ops, Networking, Data Governance) to align priorities, manage expectations, and drive adoption of platform standards. Oversee vendor relationships, licensing, and procurement for internal IT systems.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and IT best practices to improve service delivery and reduce manual IT tasks. Continually improve platform SOPs, KPIs, Dashboards for efficiency and automation.
  • Site Reliability: Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for data platform services. Implement reliability strategies such as redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery. Establish observability practices (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting). Reduce toil through automation of operational and maintenance tasks. Manage error budgets and balance reliability with feature delivery.
  • Incident Management: Monitor system health and proactively address performance bottlenecks. Provide support during major incidents, including after‑hours support. Lead incident response, communications to users and stakeholders, and root‑cause analysis with clear action items and follow‑through.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze, triage, and resolve platform issues promptly to achieve SLOs and platform reliability objectives. Conduct blameless postmortems and drive continuous reliability improvements. Drive error‑budget aware practices, post‑incident reviews, and resilience engineering (e.g., autoscaling, retry/backoff strategies, policy guardrails).
  • Security, Housekeeping, Audit: Lead vulnerability management: patching, remediation, and risk prioritization. Coordinate regular security scans and ensure timely closure of findings. Act as primary liaison for internal and external audits. Track and remediate audit findings and control gaps.
  • Documentation: Maintain & develop documentation for policies, procedures, and operational controls, Ensure incident playbooks are up to date.
  • Team Leadership & Development. Timesheets Manage IT staff for operational support with a wide range of skill levels and a diverse set of technologies, Lead, Mentor, Plan staffing, training and career development by conducting team meetings and providing feedback up the ladder. Foster a culture of operational excellence, reliability, openness and continuous learning.
  • Financial Planning & Buss Ops : With assistance of the Director, manage budgets. Maintain inventory of Vendor licenses and assist in yearly financial planning. Manage SOWs with various Vendor, track & work with finance for timely payment of invoices.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 15+ years of progressive IT experience in big organizations operating in various geographies/regulations.
  • 5+ years of leading big teams of diverse skill sets, Experience in management of workload, hiring, team building and relationship management.
  • 5+ Experience managing enterprise data platforms on 24/7 scale, Strong knowledge of cloud platforms. Experience with reliability engineering, monitoring tools, and incident management.
  • Strong exposure to IT operations & Knowledgeable about organizations and their culture and understands the reasoning behind key policies, practices and procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of SDLC, cross functional team dependencies, hands on experience of working with teams across various departments.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with internal and external clients. Ability to set goals and work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, influencing, and organization skills.
  • Strong business focus, passion for the challenges of our partners, and commitment to meet expectations of business and internal partners. Must be able to grasp complex financial concepts and be able to apply these concepts in a systems context.
  • Facilitate the discovery of alternatives and drives decision-making to closure and action
  • Works effectively and efficiently in a virtual, multi-site environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management or related field
