Job description

Summary

We are recruiting for a driven and creative, full-time Sales Representative. You will be responsible for remotely growing sales within our Process and Infrastructure (P&I) customer segment, which encompasses all industries outside of Oil & Gas and Oil Sands. This is an opportunity for someone eager to build a career in sales and shape how we engage customers, generate opportunities and drive growth. You’ll be part of an extremely collaborative team that values initiative, creativity, and continuous improvement.

This role will be based in Burnaby, Calgary, or Edmonton. Please indicate your preferred work location in the application questions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive-calling and other lead-generation activities or digital sales tools
  • Prospect and identify value alignment between Spartan and customers
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers and internal partners
  • Deliver growth and bookings results for all business units within Spartan Controls
  • Work with business units to identify industry specific, targeted sales strategies to drive business growth and revenue
  • Develop account CRM data for efficient account management
  • Regular use of SAP CRM for managing sales activities including but not limited to: Funnel Management and identifying target customers Maintaining customer account information – competitive intel, sales cycle, budgets, pricing and tiering Maintaining a robust contact database – Contact information, roles and responsibilities, interests and purchasing profile Engaging in proactive and regular follow-up on leads and opportunities to maximize sales success

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary education related to business, technology, or engineering preferred
  • Self-motivated and competitive with entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Front-line sales experience in a proactive environment is an asset
  • Broad understanding of instrumentation and process control automation an asset
  • Experience with using CRM to grow business is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Logical thinker, ability to solve problems, make decisions, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Curious, creative, good understanding of business practices
