What is the opportunity?

The Director, Credit Structures, is a client-facing credit professional who provides innovative and proactive wholesale credit solutions, value-added credit discovery, planning, and advice and prompt service through to completion to Private Banking clients. Jointly with the Private Banker, you will act as the primary credit relationship manager for an assigned portfolio of wholesale credit clients, including in the investigation, formulation, and completion of complex lending structures to help grow and deepen Private Banking client credit relationships.

What will you do?

  • Structure competitively tailored credit solutions that are larger and more complex than those customary in Private Banking

  • Partner with Private Bankers in providing proactive credit advice and counsel to support the delivery of an exceptional and personal Private Banking credit experience for wholesale credit needs

  • Deepen Private Banking client relationships through ongoing management of wholesale credit files

  • Leverage tools, resources, and materials related to lending practices and products to support advice and recommendations, including wholesale credit renewals

  • Work with the Associate Director, Credit Structures, for renewals and execution of loan document signing activities

  • Establish credibility and build positive, professional relationships with Group Risk Management by presenting comprehensive, high-quality, and well-structured credit requests for approval

  • Leverage the expertise of key contacts in Tax, Legal, Commercial Markets, Capital Markets, and National Office to enhance credit structuring capabilities

  • Maintain a robust list of high potential complex credit opportunities (existing and prospect clients) and engage in proactive marketing strategies and activities for the identified accounts

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree and industry designation (preferably CFA and/or MBA)

  • Strong lending experience including the ability to formulate creative lending solutions, build effective loan structures, and complete detailed analyses of complex financial statements

  • Effective relationship management and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage strict deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in Commercial Markets, including lending and account and risk management

  • Collaborative nature allowing effective partnership with other areas of expertise within the Bank in the development of solutions (e.g., Group Risk Management, Tax, Legal, Commercial Markets, Capital Markets, and National Office)

  • Experience with secured lending structures and related documentation

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities

  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact

  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team

  • Flexible work/life balance options

  • Opportunities to do challenging work

  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities

  • Access to a variety of job opportunities across business and geographies
