Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure quality food production and service excellence.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and support kitchen team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management activities.
  • Coordinate daily food preparation and service activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal delivery.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation standards, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and storage of food and supplies.
  • Support food cost management efforts by minimizing waste and promoting operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety regulations and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records related to food safety, inventory, training, and operational requirements.
  • Address customer needs and implement solutions to enhance the dining experience.
  • Support catering services, special events, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.


Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, Hospitality, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food service, catering, healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant environment, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and quality assurance practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team while fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to coordinate daily kitchen operations, delegate responsibilities, and maintain high standards of food quality and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, food cost controls, and waste reduction practices is an asset.
  • Valid Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a kitchen environment.
