Forklift Operator
Location: Onsite – Outdoor Yard
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM (10-hour shifts)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Forklift Operator to join a leading construction firm specializing in timber and hybrid‑timber structures. In this role, you will be a key part of the yard operations, responsible for moving materials efficiently and safely using a sit‑down forklift while supporting a variety of exciting construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate a sit‑down counterbalance forklift to move materials safely throughout the yard
- Load and unload 2–3 trucks per day, primarily on shipping days
- Spend approximately 60% of the time operating a forklift and 40% performing material handling and yard tasks
- Work outdoors for the majority of the shift (rain gear provided)
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs
- Assist with general yard and shop duties when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Valid forklift certification (WCB compliant)
- Minimum 6 months of forklift experience in an industrial environment
- Proven experience operating a sit‑down counterbalance forklift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely
- Experience in production, warehouse shipping, or material handling
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and awareness in an active yard environment
Additional Skills & Qualifications (Assets)
- Experience operating:
- 30,000 lb Combi Lift
- 9,000 lb sit‑down forklift
- 4,000 lb sit‑down forklift
- Proactive, safety‑oriented mindset
- Positive attitude with a strong team‑first approach
- Willingness to assist wherever needed
Work Environment
- Outdoor construction yard and wood fabrication shop
- Approximately 50 employees on site
- Fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment where communication is key
- When not operating the forklift, you may assist with tasks such as:
- Using nail guns
- Cutting wood to size
- Organizing materials and workspace

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
