PURPOSE:

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will play a crucial part in assembling costs and estimates for various projects during the sales and budgeting phases.

In this technical position, you will apply your critical thinking skills and sound judgment to deliver accurate estimates, even when faced with limited information. Your ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines will be essential as you create detailed estimates that go beyond simple price lists, drawing insights from multiple reporting mechanisms.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for waterslide complexes and aquatic play structures.
  • Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to review work produced by team members.
  • Work cross-functionally to conduct gap analyses on various commodities, performing root cause analysis and providing reports with findings and corrective recommendations.
  • Create detailed documentation outlining the scope of work included in estimates.
  • Fulfil responsibilities in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Promote positive communication, collaboration, and respectful relationships within the team.
  • Adhere to best practices in operations, including Customer Service, Quality, Lean Management, and Safety.
  • Contribute to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and Lean methodologies.
  • Prepare RFQ documentation to obtain both internal and external quotations as needed.
  • Review contract and bid documents to ensure completeness and compliance with proposal standards.
  • Collaborate with slide designers and Architects to ensure client requirements are met within budget constraints.
  • Collect and organize relevant reports and documents to support completed work.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • An Engineering or Project Management related degree and/or relevant experience is essential.
  • Minimum of years of relevant experience in construction or manufacturing estimating is preferred (ideally within the Amusement sector).
  • Able to read and interpret construction/engineering drawings.
  • Must be comfortable with extensive use of Excel in creating and interpreting spreadsheets; Experience using Power Apps and Power BI would be an asset.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Effective communication is key to this role.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Willing and able to work outside of normal operating hours if requested on an as-needed basis.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, fun, and professional environment!
  • Able to create estimates under pressure that are accurate and reflect the company’s costs, using information provided.
  • Able to create Bills of Materials and take-offs from scratch.
  • Math, statistics and analyst education and experience is an asset.

WHITEWATER COMPETENCIES:
