This Position reports to:
Quality & Operational Excellence Manager
The Quality Inspector supports quality assurance and quality management activities within the local organizational unit. The role is responsible for inspecting parts and processes, collecting and reporting quality data, supporting production and engineering teams, and ensuring adherence to the quality management system. The Quality Inspector contributes to team collaboration, continuous improvement, and consistent, predictable quality outcomes aligned with ABB objective
Work Schedule & Location
- On-site position: 180, Avenue Labrosse, Pointe-Claire
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Data Management
- Inspect incoming, in‑process, and finished parts using appropriate quality control and measurement tools.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Utilize measurement systems to generate accurate data reflecting the characteristics of materials, products, systems, and processes.
- Document and report inspection results, non‑conformities, and trends in a timely and accurate manner.
- Acquire, track, and report quality metrics and KPIs to support analysis and management of local processes.
- Ensure adherence to the quality management system at all stages of production.
Quality Management & Continuous Improvement
- Support activities related to quality management within the local organizational unit.
- Execute and assist the local organization with quality tools, content, and systems.
- Support quality assurance activities in collaboration with Production, Engineering, and other relevant functions.
- Provide feedback to work teams based on input from internal and external customers, promoting alignment between process output and customer expectations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual (English and French) – spoken and written.
- Experience using quality control and measurement instruments.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints is considered an asset.
