Short Description
The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Developer III is a seasoned quality professional responsible for leading testing efforts for complex or business-critical software systems. This role designs and maintains comprehensive test strategies, drives automation initiatives, and resolves complex quality issues across products. Engineers at this level operate with high autonomy and provide technical leadership within QA while helping define testing standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead testing strategy and execution for complex software systems
- Design and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks
- Develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and test data
- Identify quality risks early and recommend mitigation strategies
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture on system design and quality considerations
- Resolve complex, cross-system defects and integration issues
- Mentor SQA I–II engineers and reinforce QA best practices
- Drive continuous improvement of QA tools, processes, and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of software quality assurance or testing experience
- OR Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience
- OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred:
- Advanced expertise in manual and automated testing methodologies
- Strong experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD, and system integration testing
- Deep understanding of defect root cause analysis and risk-based testing
- Ability to influence technical decisions and enforce quality standards
- Strong analytical, communication, and mentoring skills
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction
