Paint Line Technician

Location: Woodstock, ON

Industry: Automotive Manufacturing - Tier 1 OEM Supplier

Hourly Rate: $29./hour + Shift Premiums

Shift: Weekends (Fri-Sun 6a-6p)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor paint line process monitors and react to correct any items not within acceptable process parameters.
  • Perform chemical checks per checksheet requirements to ensure that the e-coat bath maintains the correct chemical balance and parameters.
  • Monitor pH levels as per checksheet requirements.
  • Check the concentration of various chemicals, including resins, pigments, and additives, to ensure they are within specified limits.
  • Adjust chemical levels as necessary based on test results to maintain the desired chemical balance.
  • Document all chemical checks and adjustments in detail to ensure traceability and accountability.
  • Monitor and adjust the temperature of the chemical bath to ensure optimal coating conditions.
  • Complete inventory of all chemicals used in the e-coat process as directed by the Plant Management Team.
  • Follow proper storage and handling procedures for all chemicals to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Report any significant issues to the Plant Management Team and supervisor immediately and take corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct detailed quality inspections of coated parts as per the checksheet requirements.
  • Document and report any quality issues, working closely with the quality assurance team to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Follow Plex daily PM Schedule.
  • Maintain filter beds, change bag filters as appropriate flush ultra -filters as appropriate schedule, coordinate, and perform tank dumps and perform initial tank charges.
  • Ensure suspect e-coat racks are reported to the maintenance team with a detailed description of what needs to be reviewed/corrected.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure the e-coat line operates within regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Forklift operation and chemical transport/handling
  • All other assigned tasks as needed

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 ,GED, or Equivalent
  • Excellent manual dexterity skills
  • 0-3 years of experience in similar role or able to learn
  • Must have Forklift License or have ability to obtain Forklift License
  • Computer efficiency skills in all required areas
