Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking 3 Driver/Operators for Pressure & Vacuum at our Sarnia, ON location! If you’re looking for a company that will give you the opportunity to learn and gain experience on pieces of equipment like vacuum trucks and high-pressure water jetting units, apply today!

  • $27 - $31 per hour with an annual increase on March 1

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
  • 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
  • Proficient in driving manual transmissions.
  • Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity
  • Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property
  • Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
  • Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
  • Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
  • Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • Valid class AZ or DZ license with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
  • 1+ years of directly related work experience driving/operating vacuum truck, chemical cleaning equipment, high pressure/water trucks and/or combo units is considered an asset
  • Driving is in your nature, then passing CEDA’s Driver Assessment in a manual transmission will be a breeze (10, 13 and 18 speed)
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Experience and comfort with confined spaces
  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
