Our clients – Over 120,000 clients across North America: kitchen and bathroom cabinet makers, closet and storage system manufacturers, residential and office furniture makers, residential and commercial woodworking firms, and hardware retailers including major home improvement chains.

Our team – 3,000 people, nearly half of whom work in sales and marketing, with over 50% of employees being Richelieu shareholders.

Our network – 113 distribution centers across North America, including three manufacturing plants.

We are looking to fill a permanent full-time position for a Chief Accountant at our offices in Ville St-Laurent.

  • Leading and supervising the accounting team.

  • Reviewing and validating the monthly financial statements of different branches, ensuring their accuracy and consistency.

  • Analyzing and reviewing financial reports prepared by the accounting team at month- and quarter-end, with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Monitoring and analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying significant variances.

  • Maintaining effective communication between the accounting and operations teams.

  • Actively contributing to the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

  • Overseeing the preparation of tax returns for all legal entities.

  • Participating in the review of operational processes and internal control testing required under Bill 52-109 for public companies and external auditors.

  • Assisting in the audit process and the preparation of various documents for external auditors.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has excellent knowledge of the full accounting cycle and accounting standards.

  • Is capable of working within a strict regulatory framework.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills to interpret financial data.

  • Is highly organized and skilled in priority management.

  • Possesses strong communication abilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • Professional designation (CPA).

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, some of which in a structured environment, ideally in the public sector.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising an accounting team.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
