Job descriptionAARFP Arena Operator Level 1 or equivalent AARFP Swimming Pool Operator Level 1 or equivalent AARFP Parks and Sportfields Operator Level 1 or equivalent AARFP Custodial Care or equivalent Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory and professional experience performing similar work in recreation facilities. Similar experience in other public or commercial buildings may be considered. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, ‘as-builts’ and technical specifications. Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License. Current Standard First Aid and WHMIS. Training in Occupational Health and Safety management systems preferred. Familiar with all safety, fire, building and other relevant codes. Must be able to be fit tested and successfully wear CSA approved equipment to meet OH&S requirements. Knowledge and demonstrated competency to work with a variety of Windows-based computer systems including computer-controlled building management systems. Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (completed by The City upon employment). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
The Opportunity :
Provides a clean, safe, secure and efficiently-operating environment for users of recreation facilities. Completes assigned work and supervises users in assigned facilities. Performs maintenance duties at the assigned facility, resurfaces ice, monitors technical equipment (pool or arenas), conducts water tests, cleans maintains equipment and ice or playing fields and other facility components, according to established standards. Assumes responsibility and provides leadership for the facility (and staff) in the absence of the Facility Operator / Custodial Specialist.
As our preferred candidate, you will have :
- Grade 12 High School diploma or equivalent.
- AARFP Building Maintenance Level 1
- AARFP Supervisory Skills Level 1 or equivalent
