Job description

Are you an experienced warehouse professional looking to take the next step in your career with a global leader in talent solutions? Our dedicated team of recruiters are experts in their fields and are currently partnering with a top-tier client in Edmonton to find dedicated professionals for an exciting new role. We are seeking a skilled, reliable Forklift Operator to join a fast-paced environment. This is an ongoing, full-time position offering a steady 40-hour work week on an evening shift (Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM). In this role, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing & logistics operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of freight within a high-volume facility. As a premier opportunity in the manufacturing & logistics sector, this position offers a competitive pay rate of $23.00 per hour and a stable schedule that supports an excellent work-life balance.

To excel as a Forklift Operator in this specific environment, candidates must possess strong, proven experience in Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipping and/or crossdock operations. This LTL and crossdock experience is a strict requirement for the role, as you will be responsible for rapidly unloading incoming shipments and consolidating freight directly onto outbound trailers with minimal storage time. This fast-moving manufacturing & logistics hub relies heavily on your ability to safely maneuver a forklift while managing tight turnaround times and high-volume freight transitions. Working closely with warehouse management, you will ensure all load plans are executed flawlessly and that crossdock efficiency remains optimized.

Advantages
• Competitive compensation of $23.00 per hour with weekly pay cycles.
• Stable, full-time hours (40 hours per week) with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule.
• Highly desirable evening shift (4:00 PM to 12:00 AM) that leaves your mornings open.
• Long-term, ongoing assignment with excellent potential for professional stability and growth.
• Work inside a modern, safe, and well-organized manufacturing & logistics hub.
• Supported journey through Randstad—a global leader in talent solutions with expert recruiters dedicated to your success.

Responsibilities
• Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to load, unload, and move high-volume freight within an active crossdock facility.
• Utilize your specialized LTL experience to consolidate, stack, and organize diverse shipments according to outbound trailer manifests.
• Transfer goods directly from incoming transport vehicles to outbound trailers with speed and accuracy to maintain optimal crossdock flow.
• Conduct mandatory pre-operational safety inspections on the forklift and report any mechanical issues immediately to the supervisor.
• Scan, track, and document inventory movements using warehouse management systems to ensure absolute load accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area aligned with standard manufacturing & logistics safety protocols.
• Collaborate closely with shunt drivers, dock supervisors, and team members to ensure timely departures of scheduled trailers.

Qualifications

• Proven mastery of forklift operation within a fast-paced manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Deep operational knowledge of LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) shipping procedures, freight handling, and trailer optimization.
• Exceptional spatial awareness and precision steering required for navigating tight crossdock layouts and packed trailers.
• Strong attention to detail to verify shipping labels, piece counts, and bills of lading rapidly under tight deadlines.
• Solid communication and teamwork skills to coordinate seamlessly with dock staff and supervisors.
• Robust commitment to safety protocols, heavy machinery guidelines, and defensive driving techniques.
