Job description

As a Concessions Stand Worker at the Scotiabank Centre, you’ll prepare and serve food and beverages, including alcohol, while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced event environment. This role is ideal for dependable, energetic individuals who enjoy working with the public and thrive in busy settings.

Job Title: Concessions Stand Worker
Location: Scotiabank Centre – Halifax, NS
Shifts Available: Morning | Afternoon | Evening
Pay Rate: $15.75 – $17.00 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve food and beverage items in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, in compliance with provincial laws and venue policies.
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to accurately process customer orders and handle payments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession stand and surrounding areas.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure efficient service throughout the event.
Deliver excellent customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after events.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum age of 18 (due to alcohol service requirements).
Valid alcohol service certification (e.g., Serve Right or equivalent) or willingness to obtain prior to start.
Previous experience in food service, concessions, or customer service is considered an asset.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
